Wise advice. I’ve learned to qualify my recommendations with the “for us” phrase. I raved about a certain curriculum that a blog buddy bought and HATED. She returned it immediately. I was so embarrassed. Learned a lesson there.

We just started homeschooling our five-year old and have enjoyed every minute of it. It’s fun coming up with different things to do to cover the requirements yet not have to be tied to a particular curriculum. Some days we do more hands on and other days those educations videos and online games come in handy.

I am always interested in learning more about home schooling. I have homeschooled my three sons, and now am a public school teacher working in a center for disabled children. My students are in wheel chairs. I still use my same approach to homeschooling my new classroom of students. Searching for those topics and styles that incite my student’s learning. Learning is a natural process, and student driven, by their own interests, starting at their level that provides success.
